10 June Releases to Add to Your Shelf

10 June Releases to Add to Your Shelf

Posted June 3, 2016 in A Novel List / 2 Comments

June always seems to be guilty of adding an epic amount of reading to my shelves. All the BIG books are published ready for the summer, and I’m never short of reading material. I’m sure I still have some of last summer’s must-reads unread. So it was difficult to whittle this list down to just 10. Of course there are many other books being published in the coming weeks that cater to every type of reader, these are the ones that I have already read or plan to read. Debut Fiction The Girls by Emma Cline June 14th, 2016 | Random […]

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. Each week they provide a different prompt and book bloggers, like me, share top ten lists. This week is a freebie. In other words a chance for me to share a list I intended to put together weeks ago. I’ve had a lot of luck reading debuts the past couple of years. There haven’t been many duds. I’ve even discovered new favorite authors. So here is my list of 10 upcoming debuts I’m excited about. Ordered by expected publication date. 1. The Two-Family House by Lynda Cohen Loigman What is […]

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. Each week they provide a different prompt and book bloggers, like me, share top ten lists. This week is a chance for us to share 10 books recently added to our to-be-read piles. I only consider a book “added” when I actually have it in-hand. I keep a separate list for wishlist books. Some of the books recently added are available to buy now, and I have included buy links. Others I have received for review consideration. 1. The Bazaar of Bad Dreams by Stephen King What is it about: “A […]

This week is a chance for us to share 10 books released in 2015 that we didn’t get chance to read. There are many! But I chose 10 that I already have copies of to share today.   1. Under a Dark Summer Sky by Vanessa Lafaye What is it about: “Huron Key is already weighed down with secrets when a random act of violence and a rush to judgment viscerally tear the […]

Posted December 29, 2015 in A Novel List / 6 Comments

I usually share my top ten favorite reads of the year as part of Top Ten Tuesday, but they ran it early this year (when I thought I would still be reading), and so I was going to share mine in early January. But, and I’ll spare you the excuses, I haven’t finished a book in a few weeks so here it is now. In no other order than that in which I read them, here are my 10 favorite books of 2015 that you should all run and read immediately: Before I Go by Colleen Oakley: The very first […]

Bookish (and Not So Bookish) Thoughts is a weekly link-up hosted by Christine @ Bookishly Boisterous. The idea is to share things that have been on your mind – bookish or otherwise. 1. The 6:15 alarm 2-3 days a week telling me to get up with Emily are getting really old, really quickly! Our routine was thrown for a loop when she started Middle School in September. The MS bus arrives at 6:57 compared to the Elementary bus which is 8:07. Emily is not an early riser, and it has always been difficult to wake her and get her ready to go in […]

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. Each week they provide a different prompt and book bloggers, like me, share top ten lists. This week is a chance for us to share 10 debut authors whose sophomore novel we are eagerly anticipating. My list includes only authors who I have read since 2014, some have a book publishing in the next couple of months, some have a title announced but no date, and others may just be wishful thinking. So, in no particular order, who do we have: 1. Karma Brown Debut: Come Away With Me absolutely blew […]

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. Each week they provide a different prompt and book bloggers, like me, share top ten lists. This week is a chance for us to share 10 books on our Fall reading list. I seem to be completely lacking in review books for November and December, so I’m going to take the opportunity to play catch-up and read some of the books that have been sat collecting dust!   1. Under a Dark Summer Sky by Vanessa Lafaye What is it about: “Huron Key is already weighed down […]

Bookish (and Not So Bookish) Thoughts is a weekly link-up hosted by Christine @ Bookishly Boisterous. The idea is to share things that have been on your mind – bookish or otherwise. 1. I’ve been busy setting up guest posts for while I’m on vacation next week, when really I should’ve had guest bloggers this week too. Between being sick, straightening everything out at work for the next week, shopping for school supplies, filling out back to school paperwork, and packing…well you get the idea…no room for the blogging I wanted to do. 2. Phew, I’m exhausted just typing all that’s gone […]
